| The Gifted Education Program at Jack N. Darby is a pull-out resource class for identified students third through the sixth grade. Students work together to develop an area of study expanding their knowledge, and applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Areas may include art, writing for pleasure and research, logic problems, insects, animals, drama, and using the wonderful technology available in our computer labs.

- "Assessment" is a broad term used for observations, rating scales, work samples, tests and records of accomplishment .
- The Gifted Review Committee determines whether a student is eligible, ineligible, or to be monitored.
DoDEA Gifted Education Philosophy:
The unique worth, ability, and dignity of every student should be recognized and cultivated. This belief forms the basis of educational programs for all students. Children need a school environment that helps them realize their potential and instills in them a desire to use their talents and abilities. Students who perform or show the potential for performing at remarkably high levels when compared with others of their age, experience, or environment have learning needs which require differentiated learning experiences. Such experiences are those in which the content, strategies, and expectations of student performance have been adjusted to be appropriate for gifted children.
